Kristina Schippling is an multiple award-winning filmmaker, author and academic from Berlin.
After successfully completing her studies in German, Philosophy, Education, Psychology and Performing Arts at the MLU Halle-Wittenberg, HBK Braunschweig and UDK Berlin, Kristina Schippling successfully finalised her dissertation at the MLU Halle-Wittenberg with the interdisciplinary topic "Zur Vermittlung von Film im Schulbuch". She also attended two years of Meisner Acting (Method Acting/Directing) courses with Hendrik Martz.
Her first documentary feature film "The Sound of Cologne", which she directed and shot, premiered at the Cologne Film Festival. With another documentary film project about regretting motherhood, she took part in the Documentary Campus e.V. Master School as a film director for one year (2020). Kristina Schippling is not only a director and producer, she has also worked in various professions in feature films. For the documentary film "Can and Me", she conducted additional interviews, did the camera work and provided dramaturgical advice. In the genre feature film "Monster on a Plane", she was one of the co-producers, realised the cinematography and was the first assistant director. For the feature film for children "Mein Lotta-Leben. Alles Tschaka mit Alpaka", she was a film educator and 3rd assistant director. Her own film and theatre projects, including several short films and music videos and the experimental feature film "Ungleich", in which she was one of the five directors, explore the field of tension between film, theatrical staging and improvisation.
Kristina Schippling publishes short stories in anthologies and magazines; her novella "Drei Gesichter" was published by Mitteldeutscher Verlag. This was followed by "Meine Wut ist weiß und rein!", a collection of short texts, and her first novel: "Handbuch der Angewandten Vampirpsychologie Band I", published in 2021 by Exaiphnes Editions. The joint literary thriller "Intoxikation", co-authored with Matthias A. K. Zimmermann, has just been published by Kulturverlag Kadmos. She has also written two philosophical books in dialogue with Harald Seubert (published by Schwabe) and publishes philosophical articles. Es ist eine wirklich große Ehre auf der Buchmesse in Leipzig zu lesen. Zur Leipziger Buchmesse wird nun unser gemeinsamer Thriller „Intoxikation. Chemie der Illusionen“ erscheinen. Am 23.03.24, 12:30 Uhr lesen Matthias und ich auf der Leseinsel der Jungen Verlage aus unserem neuen Buch! Tausend Dank an den Kulturverlag Kadmos und Wolfram Burckhardt, an unsere Presseagentur Buch Contact und an die Leipziger Buchmesse! Wir freuen uns so sehr, unser Buch präsentieren zu dürfen.
